Versatile artist and creator of electronic soundscapes, EYE (FR/ Knekelhuis Records) will perform live in Bucharest as part of the first instalment of The Cristea Institute label nights – a new showcase series bringing together artists from the local label’s roster and international guests – Friday, March 7 at Control Club.

Tickets are now available via Eventbook.

Known for her mesmerizing live shows, EYE (real name Laurène Exposito) has recently returned to the stage after a part-time hiatus, much to the excitement of fans everywhere.

Laurène's albums, released by Amsterdam-based independent record label Knekelhuis, showcase her versatility, featuring songs in Italian, Spanish, French, and English. Her music straddles the line between French chanson and synth pop, blending classic minimal wave with rustic, acid-tinged ballads. Her sound is a unique mix of madness and serenity, like a gentle breeze and a powerful blast all at once.

Representing The Cristea Institute, an independent cassette-only label based in Bucharest and London, Prenadez (drone/ambient/lo-fi) will take the stage for an opening live set showcasing their latest self-titled album, soon to be released.

A wilfully obscure druggy ambient project under the influence of The Cristea Institute's intoxicated label head, Prenadez focuses on creating haunted decomposing loops to space out to. After many years lying in bed collecting ludicrous amounts of samples, ranging from decades old tv idents and pharmaceutical ads to forgotten pop staples, Prenadez slices and sticks them back together into droning dreamlike odes to nostalgia.

Last but not least, the live showcase will be followed by a DJ set – Șerban b2b Persu – playing a mix of IDM, ambient, baile funk and outernational electro. Pressing buttons & making noises, Șerban is a Bucharest-based producer, also known under the moniker Adwell Sewess, the mastermind behind Mass Sewage, a bi-monthly show on Black Rhino Radio. Bucharest-born but based in London, Maria Persu likes to explore icy sounds across different genres with a focus on diasporic, queer and/or female undercommons, explorations which feed the flow of their daily work as a cultural researcher and art worker.

The first instalment of The Cristea Institute label nights is organised by OneDay with the support of Control Club.

În acest moment, nu avem programată nicio reprezentație viitoare.
