Saturday, November 29, we’re in for a treat as the Brit Yellow Days makes a stop in Control.

He began to gain traction with 2017's full-length Is Everything Okay in Your World? Switching locales to Los Angeles, his follow-up, A Day in a Yellow Beat, appeared in 2020. Two years later, the pandemic-inspired EP trilogy Slow Dance & Romance, Apple Pie, and Inner Peace was steeped in psychedelic soul - it was said to represent a catalog of his "mindset in lockdown." ~ Marcy Donelson

George van den Broek got to be known for his bedroom pop, but his brilliant guitarwork and cathartic instrumentals are here to stay. "Gap in the Clouds," from his first EP, reached a broader audience when it accompanied the trailer for the second season of Donald Glover's show Atlanta.

Through his psychedelic, lo-fi music he paints a vivid picture of teenage life, then created odes for his married life. Philosophical in nature, he got us through all the stages, the hard and uncomfortable questions.

Growing up, he shifted to experimental, jazz-influenced pop artists like Thundercat and Tame Impala, and the grunge-y playfulness of Mac Demarco (with whom he had an unforgettable collaboration).

With similarities to other talented performers like Gus Dapperton and HOMESHAKE, Yellow Days brings a fresh perspective to the music scene. Whether you're looking for smooth tunes to relax to or thought-provoking lyrics that resonate with your own experiences, *Yellow Days* is an artist worth exploring.
